MISCURAT
“MUSIC LOVES ART 2024 -MICUSRAT-” was a government-led initiative organised by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, aiming to fuse music and art. The project took place from August 12 to 25, 2024, across two regions in Japan: central Osaka (including Suita City) and Makuhari New City in Chiba.
In collaboration with SUMMER SONIC, one of Japan’s largest music festivals, large-scale art installations were showcased at various locations. The theme “Hanei” carried layered meanings—reflection, prosperity, and a playful reference to Osaka—and sought to reflect the spirit of different communities and times through the lens of culture and the arts.
In Osaka, the event also featured a stamp rally and a conference program, presenting a model for the integration of creativity and local economic development.
Galerie GEEK/ART led the overall planning and production of the “MUSIC LOVES ART 2024 – MICUSRAT” project—a 14-day fusion of music and contemporary art that unfolded in the Makuhari New City area, including within the SUMMER SONIC 2024 venue.
