TAKERU IWAZAKI
Galerie GEEK/ART presents FREEFORM, a solo exhibition by artist TAKERU IWAZAKI, marking the first in the [ID]Identity series, which explores themes of cultural interplay through artistic expression. FREEFORM delves into the delicate balance between human intervention and nature’s unrestrained essence, celebrating the beauty of unpredictability and the inherent freedom found within nature’s processes. Drawing inspiration from the fluid forms of nature, such as the winding paths of rivers and the branching patterns of trees, IWAZAKI captures the organic flow and dynamic motion that characterise the natural world. These forms reflect nature's ever-evolving, unpredictable essence, and IWAZAKI harnesses this to explore the intersection of order and chaos in the creative process.

Using origami as a medium, he paints freely on paper, folding it into intricate forms that mirror nature’s capriciousness, all while guided by human hands. Transposed onto wooden panels, these folds symbolise the dynamic relationship between intention and autonomy, inviting viewers to reflect on harmony within discord. FREEFORM emphasises nature’s resilience and its transcendence of boundaries, offering a profound meditation on the transformative power of the unknown and the fluidity of identity.
